I have and continue to attend training on a variety of subjects relating to my work. I also have a thorough grounding in safeguarding for adults and children.

About Me…

I am a BACP Registered (MBACP) humanistic counsellor, which means that at its foundation, my approach is person centred. This means that we will focus on developing an honest and respectful relationship, working collaboratively and empowering you to explore your own sense of self and how you connect to the world. Leading to increased confidence in making choices or implementing changes in your life that are right for you.

This approach is important to me, as my own journey with counselling started a long time ago, after trauma in my childhood years. To be heard, feel safe, not judged and have the opportunity to safely explore and understand what was important for me, enabled me to start making changes in the way I viewed and lived my own life. This opened me up to real healing and improved relationships with myself, others and the world around me. This is what led me to qualifying in counselling, knowing that I could offer this experience to others and support them in their healing journey.

I qualified as a counsellor in 2012 and have worked in private practice for many years. I am also a qualified teacher and am passionate about supporting young people, including those with SEND and SEMH needs, through the difficulties they face, whether it is through education, workshops or one to one counselling.

I completed my Diploma in Supervision in 2021 and have experience supervising one to one in therapeutic environments and have introduced and run one to one and peer supervision in various charitable organisations, and continue to supervise within these settings.

I have also worked for many charities over the years, supporting adults and young people, with issues including, but not limited to poverty, domestic violence, homelessness, mental health education, work based issues and occupational health, and supporting refugees, including unaccompanied asylum seeking children.

I have a passion for supporting and empowering individuals and communities by supporting a discovery of self awareness, that encompasses the personal, social and universal.
